Privacy policy
The Automated Hour ("we", "us") is an independent creator project that publishes short videos and guides about automation. This policy explains what data we handle on this website, when you e-mail us, and in the tools we use to publish to our own social media accounts. Questions: [email protected].
1. This website
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Fonts and images are served from this domain; it loads nothing from other companies.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data from each request (such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this data to identify visitors. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
2. When you e-mail us
If you write to [email protected], we receive your e-mail address, name (if your e-mail shows one) and message. We use them only to reply. Mail is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing and stored in our Google (Gmail) mailbox. We keep it as long as the conversation needs, and delete it on request.
3. Our publishing tools and platform APIs
We build automations that publish our videos and posts to our own accounts on YouTube, TikTok, X, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, Telegram, Bluesky and Pinterest, through each platform's API, either directly or through a posting service acting on our behalf. These tools:
- access our own account profiles, our own posts, and the statistics the platform shows to account owners (for example views and likes on our posts);
- may read public comments and messages sent to our accounts, so that we can reply;
- do not ask you to sign in, do not access your account, and do not collect data about you beyond what the platform shows us as the account owner.
Access tokens for our accounts are stored encrypted on a server we control. We do not sell or rent any data, do not use it for advertising, and do not share it except with the service providers listed in section 6.
4. YouTube API Services
Our publishing tool uses YouTube API Services to upload videos to our own YouTube channel and to read the statistics of our own videos.
- By using any of our features that work with YouTube, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
- Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
- We access and store only data about our own channel and videos (titles, descriptions, upload status and view, like and comment counts), and use it to publish and to track our results. We do not share YouTube API data with third parties.
- If you have granted any application access to your Google account, you can revoke it at any time on the Google security settings page: security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.
- Privacy questions about our use of YouTube API Services: [email protected].
5. How to request deletion of your data
This applies to any data we may hold about you, including e-mails you sent us and comments or messages from Facebook, Instagram, Threads or any other platform stored in our tools.
- E-mail [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion request".
- Tell us your username on the platform where you interacted with us, or the e-mail address you wrote from.
- We reply with a confirmation code, delete the data within 30 days, and confirm by e-mail when it is done. If we must keep anything (for example, because the law requires it), we tell you what and why.
Removing a comment or message from the platform itself is done on that platform, under its own rules.
6. Service providers
- Cloudflare: website hosting, security and e-mail forwarding.
- Google: our e-mail mailbox (Gmail) and YouTube.
- The social media platforms listed in section 3, and a posting service that publishes to them on our behalf.
Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union, under their own safeguards.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. E-mail us and we answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU, the UK or another region with data protection law, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Children
Our content is made for adults who work at a computer. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we update it on this page and change the date at the top.
